restaurant, Echaurren, where Marisa
Sanchez offers a more traditional cuisine
than her son Francis.

casa de comidas, but has since
evolved into a major dining destination,
becoming one of the regions premier
restaurants. The main dining room seats
40. There is a private dining room for up
to 10 and a table for 14 in the bodega.
There is a separate salon to sit back,
relax and enjoy an after dinner drink and
cigar.

1:30, dinner at 9:00. Closed at Christmas,
two weeks in August and Sunday, except for

most famous restaurants in the Rioja Alta.
Opened in 1994 by Ángel
Pérez Aguila, and rebuilt after a
fire in 2001, it offers a 50-wine menu and
specialties from La Rioja,
Castile-León and the Basque
Country. Dishes prepared with great care,
including roast lamb, fish like hake and
cod and meat like pig's trotters and
suckling pig confit. It's handicap
assessable and has a menu in Braille.

weekends.
